The Pampanga provincial government has announced its collaboration with the Foundation for Lingap Kapampangan, Inc. (FLKI) to coordinate programs for the 29th Sinukwan Festival. Governor Gloria Arroyo confirmed the partnership during a recent meeting. The festival is a cultural event celebrating Kapampangan heritage.
The Sinukwan Festival is held annually in the town of San Luis, Pampanga. It features traditional dances, music, and crafts. This year’s event will include new initiatives aimed at promoting local culture and tourism. FLKI, a local organization dedicated to preserving Kapampangan traditions, will play a key role in organizing the festival’s activities.
The festival has a long history dating back to the early 20th century. It was originally held to honor the town’s patron saint, San Luis. Over time, it has evolved into a major cultural event attracting visitors from across the country. The 29th edition is expected to draw a larger audience and showcase more diverse cultural expressions. The collaboration between the provincial government and FLKI aims to enhance the festival’s visibility and sustainability.
