A 15-year-old boy from Panglao, Bohol, confessed to killing his 46-year-old mother with a hammer during an argument over his absence from school, police confirmed. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 31, 2026, according to initial reports. The boy dragged his mother’s body to an abandoned septic tank before authorities were notified.
Panglao police contacted the teenager, who eventually admitted to the crime. Police Major Joseph Lopena, spokesperson for the Bohol Police Provincial Office, stated that the boy was cooperative during the investigation. The mother’s body was found at the septic tank, and the police are currently handling the case.
This is the second time a teenager from Panglao has been involved in a fatal incident linked to family conflict. In 2024, a 17-year-old boy was arrested for beating his father to death after an argument. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns about youth violence and family dynamics in the region.
Authorities are reviewing the case for potential charges. The boy is expected to face legal consequences, though no formal charges have been filed yet. The incident has sparked discussions about the need for better support systems for at-risk youth and families in Bohol.
