Davao City has announced plans to allocate ₱487 million for the rehabilitation of public cemeteries in Maa, Tibungco, and Panacan. The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure and improve the condition of these burial sites. The proposal includes upgrades to facilities, maintenance of grounds, and better management practices.
The project is part of a broader effort to modernize municipal services and ensure proper maintenance of public spaces. Officials stated that the rehabilitation will address long-standing issues such as overcrowding, poor sanitation, and lack of proper facilities. The funds will be used for structural improvements, landscaping, and the installation of necessary amenities.
The rehabilitation of these cemeteries follows previous municipal efforts to improve public infrastructure. In recent years, Davao City has focused on upgrading roads, parks, and community centers. This new project reflects a continued commitment to maintaining and improving essential public services. The work is expected to begin in the coming months, with completion anticipated within the next year.
