President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Has recognized 10 Filipinos for their contributions to education and public service by awarding them the Medallion of Excellence. The ceremony, held under the auspices of the Metrobank Foundation, honored teachers, soldiers, and police officers for their dedication and achievements.

The recipients were selected based on their outstanding performance and service to the community. Among them were educators who have significantly impacted student learning, military personnel who have demonstrated bravery and leadership, and police officers who have upheld the law with integrity. The awards were presented during a ceremony at the Presidential Office, where Marcos emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals who contribute to national development.

This recognition comes amid ongoing discussions about the government’s response to climate challenges, including El Niño. While Marcos has called on citizens to prepare for drought conditions by storing rainwater, Vice President Sara Duterte has expressed skepticism about the administration’s ability to effectively address the crisis. Despite these concerns, the Medallion of Excellence awards highlight the government’s efforts to acknowledge and support individuals who serve the public interest.
