A landslide in Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City, killed four people on October 9. The victims included a 60-year-old grandmother and her two grandchildren, aged 5 and 6. The incident occurred shortly after noon as the family was having lunch in Sitio Kandarong Riverside.

Rescuers recovered the bodies of the victims within 24 hours. The grandmother and two children were found dead, while the fourth victim, also a woman, was retrieved later in the afternoon. All four bodies were recovered by late afternoon. Local authorities confirmed the deaths and began the process of identifying the victims.
