Over 5,000 police officers were recovered from flood-affected areas in Central Visayas. The operation involved multiple police units working to retrieve personnel and equipment displaced during the recent heavy rains. The flood, known as Kalagkalag, caused widespread damage across the region.
The recovery effort began several days after the storm hit, with teams focusing on areas most affected by the rising waters. More than 300 cemeteries were impacted, with many police units forced to relocate temporarily. The operation was coordinated by local authorities to ensure the safe return of officers and the restoration of normal operations.
This is the second major flood event in Central Visayas this year. The region has experienced several extreme weather events, leading to increased focus on disaster preparedness. Local governments have announced plans to improve infrastructure and emergency response systems to better handle future floods.
