A landslide on Friday, October 9, buried a family home in Barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City, killing four people. The incident occurred shortly after noon when the family was eating lunch in Sitio Kandarong Riverside. Rescuers later recovered all four victims, including a 60-year-old grandmother and her two grandchildren aged five and six.

The landslide struck as the family was in their home, trapping them under debris. Initial reports indicated the victims were buried alive. Rescue teams worked through the afternoon to locate and extract the bodies. The last victim, the grandmother, was recovered at around 5:43 p.M. Completing the recovery operation.

This is the second landslide-related fatality in the area this month. Earlier in October, a similar incident in the same barangay resulted in the death of a woman and her two children. Authorities have since evacuated residents from the affected area to prevent further casualties.
